“Nobody I know has done this before”.
Does that feel like the truth?
Your partner wants it to work but side-eyes the bank account. Your friends are all good people with “real” jobs. Your parents may have built something, pre-internet, but nothing like this.
There’s no one who has stood exactly where you’re standing, in the middle of something you built, trying to figure out what to do next, with nobody in your world who can tell you the best next steps.
It’s all on you.
The part nobody talks about
There’s a version of entrepreneurship that gets all the oxygen:
Get up early. Execute hard. Hustle harder. Forward motion above all else.
Doubt is a weakness. Uncertainty is a mindset problem.
That version is hard to sustain when you’re the first. The gap between starting a business and sustaining one is of context. You close it by being around people who are in it with you.
Michael Gerber wrote about the “entrepreneurial seizure”, that moment you decide you have a business worth pursuing. What he didn’t cover is what happens after the adrenaline levels off.
Nobody in your orbit knows what that feels like from mission control.
The pressure isn’t allowed to show.
That means you can’t be the one who wavers. Every answer has to sound like a decision. Every decision has to look like an answer.
Most of the existing resources assume you already have context, capital or institutional memory to pull from. You don’t. You’re writing the playbook as much as winging it.
What actually breaks the pattern? Coaching alone can’t do it.
What breaks it is being in a room with people who are doing it too, every day.
The same people who gave up being someone else a long, long time ago, and are modeling a different return on objective.
That’s the room of MindShift Mondays. Every Monday at 4pmCST.
